Earlier this year I reviewed John Sutherland’s The Dickens Dictionary and it was this book which started the whole idea of Dickens in December. That’s why we are particularly pleased that Icon Books have offered us two copies of the Dictionary for our first giveaway. We are giving a way one book per blog.

That’s very generous of the publisher–looks like a wonderful book–I recall when you wrote about it. Have you had any real snow there? I love your virtual snow–as mentioned above it is very apt for this post to see a little snow! 😉 We’ve only had a snowy morning that then melted off (am not complaining mind you!).
Yes, it is generous.
WE had snow last Sunday but it was one by Monday already. Temperatures go up and down and most of the time it’s raining.

don’t count me in as I am not sure I can read Dickens. I read 5 pages of Oliver Twist once and got headache as I didn’t understand his sentences. I am going to try A Tale of 2 Cities next, and hoping I can finally understand his sentences.
It’s not the easiest writer in English, I agree. A Christmas Carol is easier than the others, I think.
